Online donation refund policy
Refund Statement
At North South Initiative (NSI), our supporters are essential to enabling us to carry out our mission to assist marginalized communities. While donations to NSI, like other charitable contributions, are typically non-refundable, we understand that special situations may arise. Refund requests will be reviewed and handled on a case-by-case basis.
Donation Refund Conditions
We will consider issuing a refund under the following circumstances:
- If a donation was made due to an error on the part of NSI.
- If an unauthorized donation was made, such as in cases of theft or a lost card.
- If the donation amount was entered incorrectly.
- If a recurring donation was set up unintentionally when a one-time donation was intended.
- In other extraordinary cases, we may review and grant a refund.
Requesting a Refund
To request a refund, please contact us within 30 days of your donation. Refund requests after this time frame will not be processed, as donations are quickly allocated to support our urgent projects.
Refunds will only be issued to the original payment method used (credit/debit card, PayPal, etc.). To initiate a refund request, please provide the following information:
- Full name
- Email address associated with the donation
- Country of residence
- Contact phone number
- Date and amount of the donation
- Payment method
- Details explaining the refund request
Once your request is submitted, we will review and respond within two business days. If the request is approved, the refund will be processed promptly, although it may take 10-14 business days for the funds to be reflected in your account.
Legal Status and Tax Information
North South Initiative (NSI) is currently in the process of registering as a social enterprise under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDAC). We will update our status on the website once the registration process is completed and approved.
Please note that at this time, NSI does not have tax-exempt status. However, we are actively working towards obtaining this status in the near future. We will provide updates regarding our tax-exemption progress as they become available.
